Home Movie

Home Movie is fashioned as a film to take a jab at myself for documenting moments i only later Idealize through editing. By the time the memory fades from my memory only the films remain and in retrospect i am only lying to myself when i watch these personal videos or films as i reminisce on a life i didn’t have, or i least not the way these films will have me remember it. Such is the function of memory anyhow isn’t it? who wants to remember the bad right? We all idealize our lives in this manner and this thesis statement played at BAM Cinemas and other Screens around NYC in 2010. This thesis is my very firs projects to play in actual theaters. The cut below i pulled from 8mm & 16mm positives i found floating around of the piece but this is not the same cut or quality for that matter that played in theaters (its somewhere…) Hopefully the master will turn up some some day! but for now enjoy the home movie, that isn’t.
