About

Orlando S. GondarHello there, my name is Orlando S. Gondar and here is a little about me. I grew up a fine artist before discovering film and video in my teenage years. I was lucky enough to attend my dream school later on and received my BFA for Film & Video with a minor in Art History from Pratt Institute in NYC. Since then i continue to enjoy working with my clients and freelance project per project but i also enjoy working on film for theaters. I love working with both digital and traditional film equally so i do a bit of both as much as possible. All the while i work on writing articles relevant to my community of independent filmmakers. I love helping my peers grow in their pursuit of making film & video for a living, especially those stumped by ever changing technology. The immense popularity of my guides and posts propelled the site well beyond my initial portfolio space. As a tech enthusiast I went from an early hack tester and patch creator for the Panasonic GH2, to one of the go to sources for guidance on the matter, an exciting position. I had previously not focused on the social aspect of filmmaking so this is all new to me but it is very exciting! I love helping others.

I have worked on feature film sets and tend to the needs of NYC as i take on as many gigs as i can find, i absolutely love filming and can do so 24/7 should the opportunity arrive. Primarily i am noted for my work with the Occupy Wall Street movement since the release of #whilewewatch which i was a DP for and The Huffington Post gave an excellent review of. That And my work with and support of the Panasonic GH2 a camera which i have written a free book for my readers to learn from. It was not long before i had been re-blogged and posted about in over 50 websites which gave me a lot of confidence to branch out on the internet like this. My website OSGFilms.com is steadily becoming a full time job as i answer email and comments for all sorts of film and tech related questions. I try my best to be on top of this and provide new relevant content and reply to everyone quickly. Sometimes it gets a little hectic but i usually get back to everyone in a matter of a day or two. I only recently figured out that juggling my online and offline workload can be sustainable having added affiliate work to help OSGFilms grow and as of Feb 2013 i added subscriptions. I hope that it will allow me to keep my focus on the website while i pursue my offline goals as a Director of Photography.Orlando S. Gondar

That’s about it, I enjoy many arts and i have been a fine artist, musician for most of my life as well but that is best left for a different website. Welcome to OSGFilms! See below for my reel and my contact page to get in touch with me or subscribe for freebies and updates. I freelance in New York City, and surrounding areas but will travel for larger projects.
